NHL Trade Deadline - A Poem

here at SportsTeePee, we thought it would be an excellent idea to take a look back at today's festivities in a lighter tone.

Canadians were ready to be mesmerized by their TV sets, IPads, IPods, ITouch, Internet radio channels & 1999 LG wap browser (that last one was me, I refuse to sign a 3 year contract for a new phone, I'd rather use a wooden stick hooked up to a battery pack), we all called in to work "cough..hack..not feeling too good Bill, going to have postpone that meeting til tomorrow!",

we ran out and got our Tim Horton's coffee and donuts with visions of Brad Richards, Brayden Schenn, Ales Hemsky, et all dancing in our heads! Oh what joy! the big moves, today shall come! but ALAS - the deadline was HO-HUM.

we tuned to TSN or Sportsnet, or whatever your flavor, to see what moves us fans could savour.
trades on the minds of all around the globe were sadly left to Onrait's robe
give us a deal oh Master McKenzie, a Richards a Schenn or maybe a Hemsky
Brian Burke's tie was all the buzz as we anxiously awaited and bit our nails to fuzz
we looked to twitter to find a new scoop, but alas the fake Kyper had us all duped
Lupul to the Island was the joke of the day, Berger was tricked, a recant on the way
Inside the studio Duthie held it together like a star, as Kyper was seen outside keying Dreger's car
the buzzer sounds and we all yell NOOOOOOOOOOOO
but we'll be back next year just as sure as the snow.
